Story
It is through the centuries that men have quite naturally settled along the Coteaux De La Sanguèze, a place where the Domaine du Grand Châtelier dominates. Passionate about the land and nature, it was in the 1870s that great-grandfather François Lebas was seduced by the place. He settled in Le Chatelier where he cultivated the vines and the love of a job well done.
This is how a few decades later, the grandfather, then the father, inherited the estate. After a few years alongside his father and thanks to his studies in viticulture and oenology, Patrick Lebas took over the estate in 1994. Impregnated by this love of the land transmitted from generation to generation, it is with pleasure that this winegrower in Vallet today perpetuates the know-how and passion of an entire family.
Location
Our Domaine du Grand Châtelier is located in the wine-growing town of Vallet, 20 minutes from the city of Nantes and 3 hours from Bordeaux and Paris, in the heart of the Nantes vineyard. This vineyard near Vertou has a privileged geographical and geological location with vineyard slopes offering exceptional panoramas.

Our way of harvesting and vinifying
In order to be able to harvest all the plots of the estate under the best conditions of maturity, we have chosen a mixed harvest: manual and mechanical. A gentle and respectful pneumatic pressing of the grape extracts the juice then ready to be vinified, vinification which is adapted to the plot (age, grape variety) and to the different terroirs in order to promote the expression specific to each cuvée.

We offer a large selection of wines produced using a traditional method, in particular from a Point G cuvée, Quercus Harmonie cuvée: Muscadet au fief, Sauvignon blanc, Chardonnay, Vieux Moulin, Merlot rosé or red, Pinot noir or rosé, Rosé temptation and wines from Vallet.
Offering Open Days twice a year, we are happy to open our doors to introduce you to the history of our estate, our winemaking work in the cellar and the variety of our production during tasting sessions. We also offer visits to our cellar, oenology courses, in addition to themed evenings and various workshops within our vineyard estate near Vertou. Organic winegrowers near Vallet, we also offer the rental of a seminar room with a capacity of 20 people with a catering service on request. Our room is fully equipped and adapted to your needs: wifi, heating, air conditioning, sanitary facilities for people with reduced mobility, etc.
